Todd Davis came to us with a request to freshen up his business cards. His past cards turned his business name into some sort of clever graphic design solution, and there wasn't much more input than the fact that he needed a new look to replace his current card.
After some brainstorming and tossing around various ideas, we decided that the best way to design a card for a photographer was to get out of the way and let the photos do the talking. We took a recent series of images and looked for interesting ways to crop them, mindful that we didn't want to meddle too much with the overall subject matter and tone.
We then added clean informational typography over the photos, and set his name up in white over a black field for the backs of the cards. Now, when Todd goes into a room to share his work his cards are truly an extension of just that- his photography.
